The Lighthouse is a renovated state house designed with its occupant’s wellbeing as the main objective. Wellbeing is defined as; 'being comfortable', for this reason my concept focus' on capturing little moments of comfort throughout the home, by placing emphasis on the sun, patterns were created throughout the interior. The north-facing wall has three sliding glass doors, with two light wells that run perpendicular to the columns between them. These windows are positioned to provide the whole home with ample light as the sun moves, casting patterns and shadows around the single utility block which houses all the interior structural walls. The utility block contains a built in kitchen, laundry, bathroom and storage space. The polycarbonate walls that divide the bedrooms from the rest of the home are translucent providing both privacy and light when closed off and a more spacious environment when opened up.
